As world leaders gather for the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 24, 2024, President Joe Biden is poised to deliver his keynote remarks before the member states.

The address on Tuesday will mark Biden’s farewell to the UNGA as President of the United States ahead of the November 2024 election.

During UNGA week, Biden will participate in a critical discussion at the Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats.

The president’s agenda will also emphasize climate action. He is scheduled to address the Bloomberg Global Business Forum, where he is expected to highlight the importance of sustainable practices and investments in green technology.

While in New York, Biden is expected to meet with General Secretary Tô Lâm of Vietnam, further strengthening U.S.-Vietnam relations.

The high-level meetings in New York City will conclude with a reception hosted by the president and first lady at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where world leaders and dignitaries will gather to foster dialogue in a more informal setting.
