Last night, President Biden briefly stepped away from his high-level engagements at the United Nations to enjoy a family dinner at Sistina, an Italian restaurant located on the Upper East Side. Accompanied by the First Lady and their granddaughter Finnegan, the President spent the evening in a more intimate setting.
As the couple exited the restaurant and made their way to their car, President Biden was asked about his dinner. “It was delicious,” he replied, though he refrained from addressing questions concerning the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The President’s comments or lack of there of, come as the U.N. Security Council is scheduled to convene this afternoon at 6 p.m. ET for an emergency meeting focused on the ongoing crisis in the region, with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati expected to call for assistance as the situation in his country worsens.
This evening, President Biden will welcome world leaders to a reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, aiming to foster diplomatic relations and discussions on pressing global issues.
