President Biden walked into Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlor in Gresham at 3:25 pm with a candidate for Oregon governor, Tina Kotek. He shook hands with three customers and took a selfie.
Biden then moved over to the counter, pointed to a cone, and ordered the double dip chocolate chip in a waffle cone. He then put his aviators on. Biden paid $8.57 for his and Kotek’s ice cream.
“This is the last stop before the airport,” he said.
“I feel good,” Biden responded when the traveling press asked how the trip went.
“I think she’s going to win,” he said of Tina Kotek. “I think people are going to show up and vote. I think it’s going to work.”
Asked about January 6 hearings, President said that the testimony and the video are “actually devastating” and that he has been going out of his way “not to comment.”
Biden added “the case has been made, it seems to me, fairly overwhelming.”
Biden said he didn’t want to comment further because he did not want people to think he was trying to influence the Attorney General.
“I’m not,” he said. “I’ve not spoken with him at all.”

When asked about the Evin Prison fire, Biden said the Iranian “government is so oppressive.” He said he was “surprised by the courage of people and women taking the street — taking off their head scarf.”
Biden commented on the Iranian government, “Not a good group.”
When asked about UK Prime Minister’s trickle-down economic plan, he said, “I wasn’t the only one that thought it was a mistake.” He called the outcome “predictable.”
Biden revealed he disagreed with Liz Truss’ plan but said it was “up to the British people” to decide.
“I think that the idea of cutting taxes on the super wealthy at a time when…anyway, I just think, I disagreed with the policy, but that’s up to Great Britain to make that judgment, not me,” Biden did not spare Truss of his criticism.

When asked about the dollar’s strength, he said, “I’m not concerned about the strength of the dollar. I’m concerned about the rest of the world.”
“The problem is the lack of economic growth and sound policy in other countries,” he added.
Biden and Kotek then greeted three customers, including a young girl. He leaned over toward the customers and whispered two times.
“Great to see you guys,” Biden said.
He and Kotek left the store at 3:34 pm.
