This Tuesday morning, we are leading with the scoop about what went down behind closed doors in Westminster when PM Boris Johnson walked in to address the MPs ahead of the vote in no-confidence

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson threatened through the Whips office to call a General Election if the vote was close, the Pavlovic Today was told by the source in Westminster. 

Johnson managed to survive barely, but he got a worse result than either Theresa May or Margaret Thatcher.

A political development to watch today: primaries in California, Iowa, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, Montana, and South Dakota. 

The former head of the Proud Boys has been charged with planning to overthrow the government following the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

THE WHITE HOUSE

Today at the White House, Biden’s focus will be on the veterans. President will sign into law nine bills designed to improve health care options for the military community.

Today in Los Angeles, VP Kamala Harris will address “the root causes of migration.” According to a senior administration official, the focus of that strategy is to address “endemic issues” in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

“The Vice President’s theory of the case in approaching this and at the center of this strategy is that people don’t want to leave their homes,” the senior administration official told The Pavlovic Today.

In May 2021, Harris encouraged companies to invest so people of those countries would not need to seek hope and better opportunities elsewhere.

Today, VP Harris will announce that she was able to secure more than $3.2 billion of investments for the region from 40 different companies and organizations.

DIGITAL ASSETS

Elon Musk has threatened to walk away from the Twitter deal.

In an exclusive interview with The Pavlovic Today, Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary said, “I don’t know if that deal is going to happen. I don’t think Twitter is worth 54 bucks a share; it’s probably worth $12. I mean, everything else is corrected 60, 70%.”

FOREIGN AFFAIRS

After the European Council President accused Moscow of deliberately sparking a global food crisis, Russia’s UN ambassador walked out of the security council meeting.

President Zelenskyy has warned that Russian forces outnumber his troops in the east of Ukraine.

A US court has issued warrants to seize the two planes owned by the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

British journalist Dom Phillips has gone missing, and the Brazilian police and the army are searching for him in the remote areas of the Amazon rainforest.

Across the pond, following a no-confidence vote in PM Boris Johnson, Sir Keir Starmer of the Labour party said the Conservative party had ignored the British people by keeping Boris Johnson in power.
