Milwaukee and Kragujevac, Serbia, solidified their Sister City relationship on Friday as Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Mayor Nikola Dašić inked a formal agreement. Accompanying them at the signing ceremony were Sister Cities Committee Chair Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, and Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic.

“This is a great opportunity for economic interaction and cultural exchange,” stated Mayor Cavalier Johnson.

The signing ceremony, held at the Milwaukee Common Council Chambers, was open to public. Post-signing, the festivities continued on the first-floor rotunda of City Hall with entertainment, culinary delights, refreshments, and a celebration of Serbian culture.

“It’s a truly festive occasion that marks the beginning of exciting collaborations ahead!” said Tony Snell Rodriquez, Milwaukee Equal Rights Commission Chair.
