Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries responded to President Biden’s 2024 State of the Union Address by commending the President for delivering a “powerful message of unity” and outlining a “clear vision” for America’s future.
Jeffries noted the significant progress made during Biden’s tenure, particularly in overcoming the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and propelling the nation towards achieving the “strongest economy” in the world.
“President Biden and Democrats will move the country forward and grow the middle class. The twice-impeached former president and extreme MAGA Republicans are trying to turn back the clock,” said Jeffries.
Jeffries outlined the Democratic agenda for 2024, emphasizing their dedication to “finishing the job” for the American people. “We will lower costs and build a healthy economy for everyday Americans. We will protect Social Security and Medicare. We will defend democracy. We will protect a woman’s freedom to make her own reproductive healthcare decisions,” pledged Jeffries.
