President Joe Biden shared his thoughts following a second unsuccessful assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, urging Congress to provide additional support for the U.S. Secret Service.
“One thing I want to make clear is: the Service needs more help. And I think Congress should respond to their need,” Biden said Monday. “Thank God the president is OK.”
When asked what the Secret Service might require, Biden said, “They may decide whether they need more personnel or not.”
The Trump campaign, including the former president himself, confirmed that he is safe and stated the incident won’t deter him from running for office.
