The allure of the French Riviera just got a little closer for Serbian travelers. Starting on September 19, 2024, Air Serbia will resume its direct flights between Belgrade and Nice, a long-anticipated return that promises to whisk passengers to the heart of the Côte d’Azur twice a week. With flights every Thursday and Sunday, the journey is a breezy two hours—a perfect gateway to a long weekend on the Mediterranean coast.

The reintroduction of this route is more than just a revival of a summer fling from 2019. It’s a testament to the growing connectivity of Air Serbia’s expanding network, which now offers links from Nice through Belgrade to a wide range of cities across Europe and beyond. “Nice is one of the most attractive cities on the French Riviera, and a very popular tourist destination in Europe,” said Boško Rupić, Air Serbia’s General Manager of Commercial and Strategy. “Bringing this city back into our growing network enables a fast and comfortable link, as well as good connections from Nice via Belgrade to a large number of cities around the world.”

Nice, with its intoxicating blend of glamour and historic charm, is much more than a summer destination. Nestled along the azure shores of the Mediterranean, this jewel of the Côte d’Azur boasts a mild climate with more than 300 sunny days a year.

Wander the winding lanes of Vieux Nice, indulge in some retail therapy at the city’s high-end boutiques, or take in an opera at one of the city’s classical music halls. For a touch of French elegance, don’t miss the Michelin-starred restaurants or the glitzy casinos that are scattered throughout the city.

For the best view in town, head up to the Colline du Château, where the panoramic sweep of the Baie des Anges and the old harbor will leave you breathless. And no trip to Nice is complete without a visit to the Cours Saleya market—a lively hub of local life where the scent of fresh flowers, produce, and spices fills the air.

Flights will land at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, a bustling hub just six kilometers west of the city center and France’s second largest airport. Here, more than 14 million passengers move through annually, connecting Nice to over 100 global destinations.

With this route back in the skies, travelers are not only a short hop from Nice’s sun-kissed promenades but can also explore connections to hotspots across Europe, including Athens, Istanbul, Vienna, and even the idyllic beaches of Split and Dubrovnik. The French Riviera is calling—and Air Serbia is making sure the answer is easy.
