President Biden has been briefed on a plane crash that occurred in Russia, the White House confirmed. The incident involves the private plane en route from Moscow to St Petersburg, carrying a number of passengers, including the Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The Russian emergency services have reported the discovery of eight bodies at the crash site, according to the RIA state news agency.
Prigozhin was last seen in a video that surfaced just on Monday, where he appeared to be in Africa. In the video, he spoke about aspirations of achieving “freedom” for the African continent.
The circumstances surrounding the plane crash are developing rapidly, and the world watches.
The Russian state aviation authority, Rosaviation, has reported the initiation of an investigation by a specially established commission. This inquiry, according to the statement, aims to uncover the circumstances and causes surrounding the August 23 accident involving the Embraer-135 aircraft in the Tver region.
President Biden has spoken his mind about the potential engagement of Putin in the plane crash.
