The UK Government condemns the attack by Iran-aligned militia groups against US forces that took place Saturday night, resulting in the death of three service members and injuring thirty others.

The attack took place on a small base in Jordan, making it being the first targeting of a US base in the country since the start of the Israeli-Hammas war, and considered one of the deadliest recent attacks on a US base.

“We continue to urge Iran to de-escalate in the region,” said David Cameron, UK Foreign Secretary.

The Islamic Resistance, an Iraqi group, has claimed responsibility for the attack on the American troops.

“Our thoughts are with those US personnel who have lost their lives and all those who have sustained injuries, as well as their families,” said Cameron.

Officials have not yet released the names of the servicemen killed and injured as they work to notify their families.
