This week, President-elect is at Mar-A-Lago, conducting the meetings in an effort to build the next administration. This morning, he has confirmed his intention to nominate Vincent Viola as Secretary of the Army. Viola is a West Point graduate, has a deep background in national security affairs and the transition team affirmed that American people should be with great confidence that he has what it takes to lead the US army as we start moving forward with the next administration.
“It is an honor to be nominated to serve our country as President-elect Trump’s Secretary of the Army,” said Viola. “If confirmed, I will work tirelessly to provide our President with the land force he will need to accomplish any mission in support of his National Defense Strategy. A primary focus of my leadership will be ensuring that America’s soldiers have the ways and means to fight and win across the full spectrum of conflict. This great honor comes with great responsibility, and I will fight for the American people and their right to live free every day.”
The biggest story of the day is the claim made by Politico that the President-elect “ continues to employ a battalion of retired cops and FBI agents to protect him and clamp down on protesters.” The issue raised by the press has been quickly dismissed by the Spokesman Jason Miller as a complete nonsense. Miller confirmed that the main protection duties of the President-elect will be carried out by Secret Service.
Today, President-elect will be meeting with Donahue Peebles, the Founder of The Peebles Corporation and the Chairman of Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Next, he will be holding a meeting with Steven Miller, his Senior Policy Advisor, and the final meeting will be with Booz Allen Executive Vice President, Admiral Thad Allen.
President-elect will be in Mar-A- Lago for the remainder of the week and through Christmas holiday will be working to put the next administrator together. Vice President-elect Mike Pence will spend the Christmas holiday in Indiana.
