Today, Trump will sign an Executive Order on the Economic Empowerment of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Good afternoon. All has been quiet so far today on the White House grounds — if not on Twitter. The White House sends along the below information about the executive order signing event, which remains closed press. The first of two pooled POTUS events will come at 2:05 p.m., when we will see President Trump and the prime minister of Hungary in the Oval Office.

FROM WHITE HOUSE:

Today, President Donald J. Trump will sign an Executive Order on the Economic Empowerment of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The order establishes the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) and the White House Initiative on AAPI to broaden access by AAPI employers and communities to economic resources and opportunities. In May, we celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and there is reason to celebrate: under the Trump Administration’s booming economy, Asian American unemployment is at the lowest level ever recorded.
