In his second press conference this weekend, President Trump continues to drive the news by taking a set of measures to provide economic relief to American people affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
On Saturday afternoon, President Trump has announced that he is taking action to provide an extra $400 per week in extended unemployment benefits which have recently expired for unemployed Americans affected by COVID-19 pandemic. According to POTUS, the states will pay 25% of the costs.
Given that no agreement with the Democrats could be reached, President Trump has announced himself a sole winner for the American people affected by the pandemic.
” It’s $400 per week and we are doing it without the Democrats”, Trump said.
The second measure President Trump is taking will prevent evictions and will provide some financial assistance to renters.
The third measure will be the deferral of the student loan repayments and the fourth one will be tax relief for middle and lower-income households.
As President Trump went on to sign the EO, a round of cheers and applause could be heard at his golf club in Bedminster, NJ.
While legal challenges are still possible as early as tomorrow, President Trump said that “they won’t win”, adding that if he gets sued “it will be by someone who does not want people to get the money and that won’t be very popular”, he concluded.
