In a strategic move aimed at bolstering her campaign, Kamala Harris announced today that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will join her ticket as the vice-presidential candidate for the upcoming election. Walz, a former member of Congress and Army National Guard veteran with 24 years of service, brings a robust background in public service and military experience to the campaign.
“One of the things that stood out to me about Tim is how his convictions on fighting for middle class families run deep. It’s personal. As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his own. We are going to build a great partnership. We start out as underdogs but I believe together, we can win this election,” Harris said during her announcement.
The newly formed duo is set to make their first joint appearance at a rally in Philadelphia later today.
The Trump campaign swiftly responded, criticizing the Harris-Walz ticket as “dangerously liberal.”
“By announcing Walz as her running mate, Kamala Harris not only bent the knee to the radical left, she doubled down on her dangerously liberal, weak, and failed agenda,” said Brian Hughes, Trump Campaign Senior Advisor.
Hughes further alleged that Walz would be a “rubber stamp for Kamala to wage war on American energy, continue aiding and abetting an invasion on our border, and embolden our adversaries as the world is brought to the brink of World War III.”
