Ukraine and Russia have agreed to hold peace talks at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, the office of Ukrainian president Zelenskyy has announced on Sunday.

In a broadcast on Sunday, Zelenskyy said that he is entering the negotiations with skepticism and low expectations that the meeting will result in a solution. “But let them try, so that no citizen of Ukraine doubts that I, as president, tried to stop the war when there was still a chance, however small,” he said.

Releasing a photo of the room where today’s Russia-Ukraine negotiations will take place, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they are waiting for the two delegations to arrive.

“In Belarus, everything is ready to host Russia-Ukraine negotiations. Waiting for delegations to arrive,” Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced this morning.

The talks between two countries will start soon, at at 10 am CET/9am GMT.
