Classified documents found in Biden’s possession is the subject President Biden can’t avoid. In California on Thursday, Biden criticized the press for wanting him to stop the information blackout. The President tried to downplay the whole issue by saying that the American public was not interested in the DOJ investigation and wanted him instead to talk about the event he was at in Santa Cruz with Gavin Newsom.

“What, quite frankly, bugs me is that we have serious problem here we’re talking about – we’re talking about what’s going on and the American people don’t quite understand why you don’t ask me questions about that,” claims Biden when asked about the possession of classified documents.

“Look, as we found a handful of documents that were filed in the wrong place, we immediately turned them over to the archives and the Justice department. We are fully cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved quickly. I think you’re going to find there’s nothing there,” said Biden.

The President has not been forthcoming with the media since the two discoveries of documents were made, the first on November 2, 2022, and the second on December 20, 2022. When CBS News discovered the story on January 6, 2023, the White House only admitted to the first discovery and said nothing about the second one they knew about.

President Biden did the same after CBS went on air with the findings on January 9, 2023. The White House’s strategy from the beginning was only to confirm the parts of the story CBS knew about and not be fully transparent about the full scope of the discoveries.

While the President said nothing or very little about the documents from the Obama administration he kept in his possession instead of handing them over to the National Archives, he was very outspoken about President Trump when he called him “irresponsible” in an interview.

Asked if he regrets not having revealed the discoveries of the documents back in November, before the midterms, Biden shrugged off any responsibility.

“I think you’re going to find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing. There is no there there,” said Biden dismissing the question.

This is not the first time the President is downplaying negative stories involving him. During the election campaign in 2020, he displayed the same media strategy regarding the materials found in Hunter Biden’s laptop.

We’ve seen this movie before.

Failure to return classified documents from his time as Obama’s VP, cannot and should not be downplayed. It is not Biden’s role to decide what questions the press should ask him. The Biden’s job is to provide asnwers.
