“Compulsory motor liability insurance covers the damage we cause to third parties,” said Milorad Radić, Director of the Claims Directorate at Dunav Insurance Company. “However, to cover damage to your own vehicle, you need a comprehensive insurance policy that includes not only traffic accidents but also risks such as fire, flood, lightning, and vandalism.”
Addressing the need for affordable vehicle protection, Dunav Insurance has introduced the ‘Casco Collision‘ service.
“With the ‘Casco Collision’ policy, you are entitled to compensation for damage caused to your own vehicle in an accident that you are responsible for, provided the accident occurs on a public road involving at least two vehicles,” Radić explained. “This policy is available for a premium starting at 30 euros and covers passenger vehicles, including all standard equipment.”
The ‘Casco Collision’ policy requires the insured to immediately call the police and remain at the accident scene until the inspection is completed. Compensation is based on a police report or official statement. Minor accidents, however, do not require police presence if compensation is claimed under third-party liability insurance. In such cases, filling out a European Accident Report and exchanging documents and photos is sufficient.
“You can report claims to Dunav Insurance via our claims centers, branches throughout Serbia, or through our toll-free Contact Center at 0800-386-286,” Radić added. He reminded travelers to ensure they carry essential documents such as their driver’s license, vehicle registration certificate, personal identification, the European Accident Report Form, and their compulsory motor liability insurance policy. Having comprehensive insurance or at least a ‘Casco Collision’ policy is also highly recommended.
