In New York City over the weekend, representatives from Serbia, Bulgaria, and Turkey converged to spotlight the richness of their respective cultures and honor the Balkan heritage. The gathering at the Turkish House in Manhattan served as a jubilant celebration of Balkan hospitality and cultural vibrancy, featuring an enticing array of cultural exhibits, gastronomic delights, and traditional performances.
Throughout the evening, members of the diplomatic corps, Balkan ethnic communities, and prominent figures from New York’s business and cultural industries savored Balkan cuisine while immersing themselves in cultural exhibits showcasing the region’s illustrious history and traditions. They were enthralled by captivating musical and folklore performances that showcased the unique heritage of Serbia, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
Despite being away on business in Belgrade, Serbian Consul General Vladimir Bozovic conveyed a warm welcome to all attendees through a video message.
Bozovic illuminated the diverse richness of Balkan heritage, inviting attendees to savor the essence of the three Balkan nations. He accentuated the immersive and distinctive experience offered by the Balkans, with its multifaceted layers of culture and history, citing Belgrade as a prime example where modernity harmoniously intertwines with ancient heritage.

Expressing gratitude to Air Serbia for their support, Bozovic underscored the accessibility of Belgrade from New York via direct flights, acknowledging their generous assistance in organizing the event. Furthermore, he highlighted Belgrade’s forthcoming hosting of EXPO 2027, anticipating participation from over 130 countries and guests worldwide, presenting an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to include Belgrade in their future travel itineraries.
Bozovic extended appreciation to the hosts and the Bulgarian Consulate for their collaborative efforts, emphasizing that the evening transcended mere display of culinary, natural, and cultural treasures, serving as a testament to the power of cultural cooperation. He emphasized the profound bond shared among the three nations, enriching their individual and collective identities, while underscoring the importance of fostering cooperation among Balkan nations.
