Senator Duckworth is in consideration to be Biden’s Vice President and she has some harsh words for Donald Trump, Jasmine Razeghi reports.

On Thursday, Dr. Jill Biden attended a Biden For President virtual fundraiser celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Senator Tammy Duckworth was among the guests and there is also speculation she is under vice presidential consideration by Biden.

Senator Tammy Duckworth: America needs a leader in the Oval Office, instead of a schoolyard bully.

Amidst her support for Biden, she took the opportunity to also criticize Donald Trump. “We need Joe . . . But we also need a president like Joe, who respects and appreciates the dignity of every person, a president who will provide leadership that brings out the best in people, instead of the worst. I never thought I’d have to say this, but America needs a leader in the Oval Office, instead of a schoolyard bully,” Duckworth charged.

Senator Duckworth is among a dozen other women in consideration to be Biden’s Vice President. She was the both first senator to give birth while in office and to bring her newborn baby to the floor to cast a vote. As a veteran and woman of color, Duckworth’s background could play a vital role in Biden’s Presidential Campaign. The former Vice President hopes to announce his pick by August 1st.
