Prince Harry has been secretly writing a memoir about his life and the Royal Family for almost a year and has just sold it for publishing to Penguin Random House.

While working with a ghostwriter named J.R. Moehringer, Prince Harry’s memoir will most likely include the infamous action taken by him and his wife, Meghan Markle, when they decided to leave from the Royal Family. The couple faced a substantial amount of hate and support from the public when they announced their decision.

J.R. Moehringer is a Pulitzer winner who has worked with many famous people on their memoirs, such as tennis player Andre Agassi.

It is reported that the first draft of the memoir is already written, but Harry will continue to add to it and edit it due to his deadline being pushed back to October after new events and breakthroughs occurred in the lives of the Megxit.

The Royal Family, including his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, were informed personally from Prince Harry that he will be writing this memoir consisting of details from his life as well as other members of the family, but he did not explicitly ask their permission to publish his work.

Buckingham Palace did not comment on the announcement, instead stating to PEOPLE, “Any clarification about the book would be a question for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

His memoir is set to be released late next year and he will earn at least $20 million for his work, with Moehringer making $1 million. It is reported that Prince Harry will donate the money earned to charity, although details are still to be announced.

When asked about his memoir, Harry stated, “”I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

The memoir will include key events and details from his childhood as a member of the British royal family to his modern day life in the public and private eye. It will consist of many “experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.”

At the announcement of his memoir, Prince Harry also commented, “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
