Donald Trump about to start speaking at a campaign rally in Michigan.

Motorcade arrived at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids at 6:49 p.m. Crowds lined the motorcade route and waved as we passed. Lots of the spectators were wearing red MAGA hats. One protester held up a sign that read: “#Not Welcome Here.”

We are now in the arena and waiting for POTUS to begin speaking. A large American flag is set up behind the stage. On each side of it are large red signs that proclaim: “Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!” The arena appears filled to capacity.

The usual warm-up music is playing over the loudspeakers: The Rolling Stones’ “Time Is On My Side.” Elton John’s “Candle In the Wind.” Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best.”

The speech is open press and will be aired on C-SPAN.
