The President spoke with South Korean President Moon Jae-in this morning. The two leaders discussed the latest developments on the Korean Peninsula, including our ongoing efforts to achieve the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea as agreed to by Chairman Kim Jong Un. 

 

President Moon briefed the President that he was sending a Special Envoy to Pyongyang tomorrow (September 5) to meet with Chairman Kim, and promised a readout of that meeting. They agreed to meet later this month on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
