With 36 days from Inauguration Day, President-elect continues to deflect blame from Russia, but the transition still maintains continuity, arranging for productive meetings with various high profile people in tech world and politics.
With 36 days from Inauguration Day, the President-elect has so far named 13 individuals to his cabinet. This morning, however, President-elect continues to make headlines by asking in his signature tweeting style: “If Russia, or some other entity, was hacking, why did the White House wait so long to act? Why did they only complain after Hillary lost?”
President-elect shows no plans of backing down from deflecting blame from Russia and his morning tweet states that this narrative about the Russian cyber hack is a continuous attempt to delegitimize the election. “It won’t stand whether is the recount or this,” said Trump’s spokesman, Jason Miller.
Of the most recent selections to Trump’s office is the Secretary of Interior, Ryan Zinke. With news of this nomination coming out this morning President-elect said: “As a former Navy SEAL, he has incredible leadership skills and an attitude of doing whatever it takes to win. America is the most beautiful country in the world and he is going to help keep it that way with smart management of our federal lands. At the same time, my administration’s goal is to repeal bad regulations and use our natural resources to create jobs and wealth for the American people, and Ryan will explore every possibility for how we can safely and responsibly do that”. Based on the transition team’s comments, Congressman Zinke is seen as a man of action and a strong conservation activist and advocate for America’s energy independence.
Yesterday, Trump held a summit with leaders in tech industry initiated with an intent to spark innovation and create more jobs in the U.S., particularly for working Americans. During the meeting, the President-elect discussed a wide range of issues impacting both American workers and American companies, including specific innovative solutions that have been blocked by what President-elect claims to be a “narrow thinking in Washington”.
Today, President-elect begin his meetings at Trump Tower with Joel Kaplan, who served as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy under U.S. President George W. Bush.
President-elect will meet today with Pete Hagseth , CEO of Concerned Veterans for America. According to the transition team, President-elect deeply cares about the issues of the veterans and he wants to make sure he appoints the right person who will be capable of executing a necessary reform of VA and attends to the needs of those who sacrificed everything they had for their country.
Then, President-elect will meet with Daniel R. DiMicco, current chairman of Nucor. Following this meeting, Peter King from the Counterterrorism and Intelligence Subcommittee is scheduled to meet Donald J. Trump.
Further, President-elect will be attending The U.S. Conference of Mayors which will include among others, Mayor of New Orleans Mitch Landrieu, Mayor of Columbia SC, Elizabeth Kautz the Mayor of the City of Burnsville.
President-elect will also meet today with Kris W. Kobach, Kansas Secretary of State., a constitutional attorney, an expert on immigration law and border security.
Finally this evening, President-elect will be holding a rally as a part of Thank You tour in Hershey, PA.
