In the aftermath of President Biden’s decision to end his reelection bid, the White House said that the President has spoken to a number of members of Congress, governors, and supporters, and will continue to engage with key stakeholders tonight and tomorrow.

The announcement to withdraw Biden made on Sunday was set in motion by public calls for him not to run for re-election.

Biden has endorsed VP Kamala Harris to be the DNC nominee for the President in the November election.

“I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” said Biden as he made the announcement that he won’t be on the ticket in November.

“I am honored to have the president’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination,” said Harris, who is expected to make her first public appearance on Monday afternoon on the White House south lawn.
