President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden greeted guests at the receiving line. PM of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, emerged in a dark blue suit and stopped to shake hands and exchange a few words with the President.
“You are a great friend of Montenegro,” PM Abazovic said to Biden.
“Yes, I am!” quipped Biden. ” It’s nice to see the young prime minister.”
According to a source familiar with the conversation the two leaders head, PM Abazovic, told Biden that Montenegro would “continue to fight organized crime and corruption,” and he asked for US support. Abazovic reiterated to Biden that his country, a member of NATO, would “persevere” on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
The event at the American Museum of Natural History was closed press.
