President Joe Biden congratulated Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson on his victory in the mayoral election during a phone call on Monday.
According to a note passed along by the White House, Biden spoke with Johnson yesterday and expressed his congratulations to the incoming mayor.
The president’s call came after Johnson secured a victory in the Chicago mayoral election, winning over 60% of the vote.
Johnson is set to take office on May 20th, succeeding outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
