On Thanksgiving morning in Nantucket, where the first family is staying at the house of a private-equity billionaire David Rubenstein, Joe and Jill Biden were watching the 95th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The president and First Lady called Al Roker according to the White House.
“There’s nothing we’re unable to overcome, Al, and you’re one of the reasons for that, pal. You’re always up. You’re always rooting,” the president said to a presenter over the phone.
“We appreciate it, Mr. President,” Al responded to Biden. “Thank you so much,” he added. “I hope you’re going to continue to watch the parade. Santa is coming. Santa is coming, Mr. President!”
“I’m waiting for Santa,” Biden offered his reassurance adding that he wishes he was in New York for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Today, the President and the First Lady are visiting the United States Coast Guard Station Brant Point to virtually meet with service members from around the world to thank them for their service and wish them a happy Thanksgiving.
