POTUS is taking a ride to Joint Base Andrews rather than fly on Marine One due to a bad weather call.

POTUS emerged from the Oval at 3:58 PM wearing a dark suit and blue striped tie and entered a SUV in the presidential motorcade. 

POTUS is taking a ride to Joint Base Andrews rather than fly on Marine One due to a bad weather call. It has rained heavily much of today in downtown Washington, but the precipitation stopped here more than an hour ago. Skies are partly cloudy and it is hot and humid. 

Motorcade exited White House complex at 4:02 PM. Many tourists on city streets have stopped to take photos and video will mobile phones.  

Motorcade route has been cleared of traffic as rush hour builds (this native Washingtonian has never seen 695 so clear at 4 PM on a work day, though there are now major backups in the other direction).

We are en route to JBA, where POTUS will depart for a campaign trip to West Virginia.
