POTUS commented briefly on the guilty verdict of his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

First, the news — POTUS commented briefly on the guilty verdict of his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, calling it “very sad” and noting that it had “ nothing to do” with Russian collusion.  “We continue the witch hunt,” he said. Fuller quotes TK.

POTUS landed at Yeager Airport in Charleston, W.Va. at 5:25 p.m. No gaggle. Your pooler spotted Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, in the conference room at the front of AF1 mid-flight.

POTUS stepped off the plane at 5:38 p.m. Among the greeters was Republican Senate candidate Patrick Morrisey, the state’s attorney general, who is running against Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.).

The motorcade is on the move as of 5:41 pm. en route to the Charleston Civic Center where POTUS will hold a closed-press roundtable with supporters at 6 p.m. The campaign rally on behalf of Morrisey is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

For a more precise “wheels up time” from JBA (that your pooler was not able to include in the first report because of the lack of service on the plane), we took off at 4:34 p.m.
