THE WHITE HOUSE
President Biden is on a fundraising blitz in New York City today.
2024 ELECTION
Nikki Haley said, “We all know 80 year olds who can run circles around us…and then we know Trump and Biden. We need a president who has the focus and stamina to deal with all the challenges facing our country.”
Judging by the voters in Nevada last night who voted for “None of these candidates” over her, the President of the US can be literally anyone but her.
Kamala Harris, reacting to the Biden’s victory in the Democratic primary in Nevada said that “freedom is on the ballot” come November.
ON THE HILL
House Republicans fell short in their inaugural bid to get sufficient votes for the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas.
Despite holding the majority in the House, the impeachment resolution failed.
The three NO votes opposing Mayorkas’s impeachment were cast by Mike Gallagher (WI-08), Tom McClintock (CA-05), and Ken Buck (CO-04). Additionally, Scalise was notably absent, undergoing cancer treatment.
Republicans are hoping the next time around their efforts will yield success in securing the necessary votes for impeachment.
Rep. Matt Gaetz has once again taken aim at his favorite target: Kevin McCarthy. Following the news of Ronna McDaniel’s exit, Gaetz said he would be supporting McCarthy for RNC Chair for one reason only: the absence of any decision-making power.
GLOBAL AFFAIRS
Israel announces it has informed the families of 31 hostages held in Gaza that their relatives are presumed dead.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to meet with Israeli leaders.
Serbia has successfully secured an emergency UN Security Council meeting on Kosovo. The session will be open to the public, and we will provide reporting from the UN.
