Good Morning DC,

The last week I’ve spent in New York City, reporting from the UN Security Council urgent session on Kosovo’s government suspension of Serbian dinar.

Which brings me to the following.

NYC is where I draw my energy from. After Yale, it became my formative base, a daring playground of dreams. Without NYC, there would be no The Pavlovic Today. It’s where the concept of my independent news organization was born, and it continues to thrive because it’s fueled by the Empire State of Mind.

I often wonder if I would be where I am today without NYC. Washington DC isn’t typically seen as a hub of innovation. Today, many argue that journalism should reflect the diverse face of America, and The Pavlovic Today, as an immigrant and woman-owned and led news organization, was breaking new ground before it became a trend.

I’ve built a news organization with 100% of my equity. I kept on building infrastructure while choosing not to involve investors until I surpassed a certain threshold, making it evident to those know anything about business that The Pavlovic Today is here to stay. Typically, it takes an average of 10-15 years to build a brand.

The Messenger’s collapse, despite its 20 million + budget, highlights that cash flow alone isn’t enough to ensure sustainable journalism. It’s about more than just financial resources; it’s about building a track record, delivering quality content, and telling impactful stories.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a reputable news organization. Just as we need a new generation of political leaders, we also need a new generation of media entrepreneurs.

Let’s go. http://thepavlovictoday.com

Let’s get you caught up with the news of the day.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to address the National Association of Counties legislative conference at the Washington Hilton hotel.

Later in the day, President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan.

According to Reuters’ Steve Holland, John Kirby is set to be promoted to White House National Security Communications Advisor and Assistant to the President.

The Pavlovic Today’s news report in January this year on Donald Trump potentially selecting Senator Tim Scott as his Vice President has been confirmed by NBC this morning. NBC confirms that Scott is indeed being considered as a contender for the vice-presidential position.

Former President Donald Trump, speaking at a rally in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday, addressed US foreign policy during his tenure in the Oval Office. He criticized President Biden for the withdrawal from Afghanistan and reiterated his 2016 campaign pledge regarding NATO, emphasizing that member countries should contribute at least 2% of their GDP to military spending in order to receive defense support.

Recounting the conversation he had with one of the world leaders, Trump said, “One of the presidents of a big country stood up and said, ‘Well, sir, if we don’t pay and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’,” said Trump. “No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay. You gotta pay your bills.” Trump continued, “And the money came flowing in.” He said that “we would protect you under any circumstances” would not make anyone pay. “We are not going to be a stupid country any longer,” Trump said to his supporters.

The White House released a statement calling Trump’s NATO comment “appalling and unhinged.”

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said, “Encouraging invasions of our closest allies by murderous regimes is appalling and unhinged – and it endangers American national security, global stability, and our economy at home.”

President Biden is trying to get the young vote and has joined TikTok with a Super Bowl video post.

Despite working throughout the weekend, the Senate has not yet passed the $95 billion aid package designated for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. Two procedural votes are anticipated to occur this evening in relation to the package.

The Pavlovic Today has been on the ground in NYC last week for the urgent meeting of the UN Security Council convened  in response to the suspension of the Serbian dinar.

Following the UN Security Council meeting we have sat down for an exclusive interview with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic ,to gain his insights on the matter.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was sitting on the rooftop of the iconic New York hotel amidst the steel and glass expanse that delineates Manhattan’s skyline.
