White House Correspondent Ksenija Pavlovic Mcateer gives her take on the latest news from the White House

Good Morning DC,

Today is World Press Freedom Day.

To me, it’s one of the most important days of the year.

I run The Pavlovic Today because I favor the truth, and I love the GMDC community. I run The Pavlovic Today because my right to keep you informed — from the White House to Foreign Affairs — is protected by the Constitution.

The people’s relationship with the press has been complex though history and sometimes has been a cause of the great American divide. News informs us about the good and the bad of politics and at the same time unnerves those who’d rather keep the story hidden.

The founders protected freedom of the press because they’d seen firsthand what unchecked power can do.

As a White House Correspondent, I have a great privilege and responsibility to write the first draft of history. I have a great honor and responsibility to guard and illuminate the truth. Most importantly, I have the freedom to think and write independently.

If our journalism has ever informed or helped you, please make a contribution to The Pavlovic Today in honor of World Press Freedom Day.

We can’t do this work without your support.

Sincerely,

Ksenija Pavlovic Mcateer
