White House Correspondent Ksenija Pavlovic Mcateer gives her take on the latest news from the White House

Good Morning DC!

We are back with GMDC programming after taking a moment off to celebrate Orthodox Easter

The news of the decade is that Elon Musk has taken complete control over Twitter after all twists and turns. Money talks louder than censorship, doesn’t it?

“And be my love in the rain,” Elon says. It may turn out that it would rather be a tsunami.

Come forth into the storm, Elon Musk, and be what may.

The other free press story that caught my attention across the pond is Glen Owen’s article in the Mail on Sunday about Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner uncrossing her legs during PMQs to ward Boris Johnson. The story blew up over sexism and misogyny, going as far as having the Speaker of the House of Commons summoning Glen and wanting to revoke his parliamentary pass.

PM Boris Johnson said that he would unleash “the terrors of the earth” against the anonymous source within the Conservative party who they want Glen Owen to reveal.

A total overreach. Glen may not have written his best story, but he was quoting an MP source, and neither the Speaker nor Johnson have any business in questioning who that source is.

That’s why I love the First Amendment here in America. We can tell politicians off, and we fought in the White House press corps when Trump tried two times to revoke journalists’ press credentials.

We won.
