First Lady Jill Biden departed a local coffee shop at 2:45 p.m. and was approached by an ABC reporter about her message to Democrats and her feelings on the state of the race.

She stopped, turned to the pool of White House reporters, and addressed them directly.

“Why are you screaming at me? You know me. Don’t scream at me. Just talk,” she said, before declining to answer the questions.

President Joe Biden has declined to withdraw from the presidential race despite concerns about his capacity to sustain through a possible second term.

In a letter to congressional Democrats on Monday, Biden reiterated his commitment to the race.

“I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to beating Donald Trump,” Biden wrote.

“I want to make sure I was right, that the average voter out there wanted Joe Biden and I’m confident they do,” Biden said on Morning Joe this morning. “I am not going anywhere,” he said.
