Hakeem Jeffries has launched a scathing counter-attack on Donald Trump after the president branded him “low IQ” and dismissed his criticism of his Iran policy as “treasonous.”

The escalating feud erupted after Trump launched a string of personal insults at the top House Democrat, prompting a sharp and unapologetic response.

Speaking to The Pavlovic Today at a press conference on Thursday, Jeffries challenged Mr Trump to a public debate.

“If Donald Trump wants to debate me anytime, anyplace — in the Oval Office, publicly, on camera — I’d be happy to do it,” Jeffries said. “And we’ll see who’s intellectually superior in that type of contest. I’ve got no doubts as to what the outcome would be.”

Jeffries did not stop there.

He said it was “extraordinary” that Trump continues to recycle the same “low IQ” insult — before delivering a brutal response of his own.

“This is from the dumbest President ever to sit at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” Jeffries fired back. “There’s not even a close second.”

The Democratic leader also accused Trump of damaging America’s global standing with his rhetoric.

“Instead of insulting people all over the world — and I’m not really worried about what he has to say about me — but he’s insulting our allies,” Jeffries said. “He’s worsening the United States’ security posture in doing so.”

Jeffries further noted how Trump is even alienating his own political base while presiding over economic turmoil.

“He’s fighting with his own MAGA base. The economy is collapsing. It’s a train wreck,” he said. “That’s why it’s going to take Democrats to get things back on track.”
