The world’s richest man, Elon Musk is now in control of Twitter after completing his $44 billion takeover.
“The bird is free,” he posted on Thursday evening, amid the firing of Twitter’s CEO, Parag Agrawal and other top executives.
Musk also fired general counsel Vijaya Gadde ( Legal, Policy and Trust & Safety), who was crucial for removing Donal Trump from the platform in January 2021.
Trump’s account is still deactivated but Elon Musk has been saying for a long time that removal of Trump who acquired more than 88 million followers on Twitter, was morally wrong.
“I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” Musk said at a Financial Times conference in May. “I think that was a mistake. It alienated the country and did not result in Donald Trump not having a voice. I think it was a morally bad decision and foolish in the extreme.”
This morning, Elon Musk started with a tweet. “Let the good times roll.”
This morning, Trump posted on TRUTH Social that he is pleased that “Twitter is now in sane hands and will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics and Manicas that truly hate our country.”
He said nothing yet about his return to Twitter. Former Presidents said on numerous occasions in the past that he would not leave his newly created social network to return to Twitter, but it is likely that he would choose to be present on both.

As Trump’s return to Twitter is likely to take place, Musk reached out to advertisers to assure them that “a free-for-all hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.”
