Today, Secretary Carson is leading a delegation of Sr. Administration Officials to participate in a partnership meeting with Governor Rossello and the Government of Puerto Rico to discuss ongoing recovery efforts as we continue building a stronger, more resilient Puerto Rico. Upon arrival, the Secretary will be greeted by Congresswoman Jenniffer González-Colón and Secretary of State at the airport. The delegation will then travel to the JRO to meet and thank the Federal personnel who are supporting Puerto Rico’s recovery. Later, the officials will attend the official ceremony to memorialize the one year anniversary of Hurricane Maria where Secretary Carson will deliver remarks on behalf of the Administration. As the President said on Monday night, “we stand with Puerto Rico, and we are helping them to rebuild stronger and better than ever before.  …To every family who has lost a loved one in these really devastating hurricanes and storms: All of America grieves with you.  Our hands are folded in prayer and outstretched with love.”
