On Tuesday, Congressional leaders of both parties spoke to reporters outside the West Wing following their meeting with President Biden.

Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi were the first ones to address the press . “All four of us agreed we’ve got to resolve this rail shutdown as quickly as possible,” Schumer said.

“I don’t like going against the ability of the unions to strike,” Pelosi said,”but weighing the equities, we must avoid a strike.”

Pelosi said that tomorrow morning in the House, “we’ll bring up the legislation and send it over to the Senate.”

Senator Schumer confirmed that him and McConnell “agreed to try to get it done ASAP.”

GOP Leader McCarthy came out next to address the press.

“I can work with anyone who’s willing to work to get our spending under control,” he said.

“I think they should stop picking on Elon Musk,” he noted of the administration saying they are “keeping an eye” on Elon Musk.

“That is offensive to me. Government’s gonna go after someone that wants to have free speech,” said McCarthy.”What do they have to look at Twitter about? Do they want to go more after American public about whether they can have an opinion on something? I think American public has spoken on this,” added McCarthy.” I think our First Amendment stands up and I think they should stop picking on Elon Musk.”

Asked to comment on Nick Fuentes, McCarthy said he has no place in the Republican Party and that former President Trump did not know who he was dealing with. “His views are nowhere within the Republican Party and within this country itself.”
