BREAKING NEWS— Gunshots were fired at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania, prompting the Secret Service to rush the former President off the stage and into a vehicle.
Trump appeared to be injured in the ear, with blood visible on his right side as he fell behind the stage. He raised his fist in defiance as Secret Service agents created a protective wall around him. He was quickly swarmed by agents, who escorted him to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The shocking moments were broadcast live, capturing the immediate response and ensuing chaos.
This is a developing story. At this moment, it is not clear who the shooter is. The Secret Service issued a statement saying that the former President is “safe.”
Biden was at the church service at the time of the incident. Leaving the church at 6:19 pm, Biden said that he has not been briefed on the shooting at the Trump rally.
Moments after, the White House issued an update saying that President Biden has received an initial briefing on the incident at Former President Trump’s rally.
Steven Cheung, Trump spokesperson said that President Trump “thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
According to the Washington Post reporter, shooter and one audience member are reportedly dead.
