#GoodMorningDC. Here's the world you are waking up to this Tuesday morning, March 30, 2021

Good Morning DC! It’s Tuesday, and if you did not notice, President Biden “has a private jet,” which allows him to travel during the pandemics, unlike common Americans who fly coach on commercial flights. Private jet setting is “of course, different than traveling on a commercial flight and going to mass events,” the Press Secretary said. Now, you know the difference.

Trump launched 45Office.com. “The Office of Donald J. Trump is committed to preserving the magnificent legacy of the Trump Administration, while at the same time advancing the America First agenda,” states the website blurb. There’s no advertising like self-advertising.

In a letter released by Trump’s office on Monday, the former president spoke out against Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx. The former president addressed both doctors as “bad faulty, self-promoters.” Trump’s outrage against the doctors comes after a bombshell CNN interview, where both experts spoke out about their experience in serving the Trump administration.

“In a fake interview last night on CNN, Dr. Fauci, who said he was an athlete in college but couldn’t throw a baseball even close to home plate, it was a ‘roller,’ tried to take credit for the vaccine, when in fact he said it would take three to five years, and probably longer, to have it approved. Dr. Fauci was incapable of pressing the FDA to move it through faster. I was the one to get it done, and even the fake news media knows and reports this,” Trump went on in his letter to Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci.

The World Health Organization recently released an inconclusive report saying that Covid-19 was likely the result of the transmission of the virus from animals to humans. However, before the report was released, House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul released a statement claiming that the Chinese government party held a large part of the investigation and influenced its finding.

“A report censored by the CCP is worse than no report at all because it allows the CCP to continue to spread misinformation about the virus and cover up the role they played in allowing it to spread. If we want to prevent the next pandemic, we need an accurate, objective, and trustworthy assessment of the origins of the virus,” he said.

CDC Director Dr. Walensky shared her feeling of “impending doom” as COVID hospitalizations and deaths rise across the U.S. “I’m just worried we’re going to see the surges,” said Dr. Walensky.

Biden promised that the majority of Americans will have access to vaccines by April 19, 2021, but added “The war against COVID-19 is far from won.”

Biden is expected to unveil his long-awaited infrastructure plan soon. The plan will attempt to rebuild a clean-energy infrastructure system in America by taking advantage of offshore wind energy. According to Press Secretary Jen Psaki, it will “trigger more than $12 billion per year in capital investment and projects on both U.S. coasts, create tens of thousands of good-paying jobs, with more than 44,000 workers employed in offshore wind by 2030, and nearly 33,000 additional jobs in communities supported by offshore wind activity.”

The plan, officially titled “Build Back Better,” will be released by the President tomorrow in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Read more about the details on The Pavlovic Today.

The trial of Officer Derek Chauvin in the murder of George Floyd began yesterday. The opening statements by the prosecutors and defense sparked the nationally televised trial that will grip the nation over the coming weeks. Over the summer, Floyd’s death sparked national outrage over racial injustice, police violence and systematic racism that motivated millions around the world to protest in Floyd’s name. Now, those protestors are intently watching the trail of the accused police officer Derek Chauvin as he faces second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

During the opening statements, the prosecutor Special Assistant Attorney General Jerry Blackwell played the entirety of a 9 minute and 29-second eyewitness video that captured the scene of the crime. By the end of the video, Officer Chauvin’s knee is removed and Floyd’s lifeless body is transported to a stretcher.

“You will learn that on May 25 of 2020, Mr. Derek Chauvin betrayed this badge when he used excessive and unreasonable force upon the body of Mr. George Floyd,” Blackwell told the jury.

The defense’s argument is focused on the cause of death and intends to prove that Floyd’s death was the result of a drug overdose and a faulty heart, not Officer Chauvin. The defense’s argument will focus on the presence of methamphetamine and fentanyl in Floyd’s system arguing that the drugs in combination with his heart condition caused his death. Blackwell addressed this during his opening statements by saying that people who die from a drug overdose do so by suddenly becoming unresponsive, an action that looks similar to someone falling asleep.

“They’re not screaming for their lives. They’re not calling on their mothers,” Blackwell said. “They are not begging, ‘Please, please, I can’t breathe.’ “

A 10th woman came forward to accuse Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment. And yet, no resignation on the horizon.

The two charges for sex trafficking of the fourth girt have been filed against Ghislaine Maxwell. As of right now, Maxwell’s trial is set to begin in July.

Across the pond, England is on track to reopen shops, pubs, and restaurants by April 12, the i reports. The government’s chief scientific adviser notes that “everything is headed in the right direction.”

A fifth vaccine has been approved for distribution in the UK after proving to be efficacious in recent trials.

60 million new jobs, or vaccines, are going to be made in Britain, PM Johnson announced. The vaccine is called Norovax and is switching over from production in Germany and into Britain.

Ireland will begin easing Covid restrictions next month with students returning to classrooms by April 12, 2021.

This morning Italy announced plans to introduce a mandatory 5-day quarantine for EU travelers.

In the most recent Myanmar protests, 14 demonstrators were killed making it the deadliest weekend since the February military coup.
