At the White House, Fabiana Rosales spoke in Spanish about the situation in Venezuela and her fears about her husband’s safety.

Rosales spoke in Spanish. An interpreter at her right repeated her comments in English.

“Venezuela is going through a terrible crisis…. Children are dying…. The crisis is serious… I fear for my husband’s life… His chief of staff was kidnapped in a very violent and vile manner…Venezuela is not alone. The US is with Venezuela. The world is with Venezuela.” She referred to the Maduro regime as a “terrible dictatorship.”

There’s repression. There’s prison…  we’re fighting for life and death and we know that what will triumph at the end is life.”

Trump: “We are with you 100 percent.”

Asked about Russian actions in Venezuela by Reuters Steve Holland, the president said, “Russia needs to get out.”

On health care: “The premium is too high and the deductible is horrible… It’s far too expensive for the people, not only for the country…. Obamacare’s a disaster.”

“If the Supreme Court rules that Obamacare is out, we’ll have a plan that is far better than Obamacare.”
