Elon Musk has made a stunning revelation to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that is bound to ruffle some feathers.
In a wide ranging interview, Musk revealed that the US government had complete access to users’ private Twitter messages, leaving many who believed their conversations were secure feeling perturbed.
Musk expressed his surprise and disbelief at the level of monitoring that government agencies were able to achieve, stating that it “blew my mind” how effectively they had access to everything that was happening on Twitter.
When Carlson pressed him further on the matter, Musk replied with a simple “Yes,” confirming that direct messages were not exempt from government scrutiny.
The interview will air over two nights, and one can expect it to ignite a heated debate over privacy in the digital age.
