This morning on Good Morning Britain, LibDems leader MP Ed Davey joined Kier Starmer in calling for the General Election amid Lis Truss’s resignation.

“I think many people feel that,” said Ed Davey about the need for the General Election.

” We’ve seen Liz truss trashing the British economy with her unfunded tax cuts. Then before that, we saw Boris Johnson failing our country with his lies, and his law breaking the Conservatives has shown they’re not fit to govern our wonderful country. And we don’t need another Conservative Prime Minister lurching from crisis to crisis, we, we need some stability, millions of families and pensioners are struggling out there, ” said Davey.

“They need proper leadership. That’s why I think there should be a general election. And frankly, Conservative MPs should do their patriotic duty and work with opposition parties like the Liberal Democrats to make that general election possible.”
