President-elect Donald Trump has made his first major appointment, selecting Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff. Wiles, a longtime loyalist who has stood by Trump since he left office, will be the first woman in history to hold the position.
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” said Trump in a statement. He added that Susie is “tough, smart and innovative.”
Known for her deep connections within the Republican Party, Wiles commands respect across GOP ranks. Her appointment marks a significant step in Trump’s effort to shape a new administration as he prepares to return to the White House.
