In a notable public acknowledgment, President Joe Biden introduced his seventh grandchild, a 4-year-old girl named Navy, who was born in 2018 to his son Hunter and an Arkansas woman named Lunden Roberts.

In a statement initially reported by People, President Biden expressed that both his son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are actively collaborating to ensure the best interests of their daughter, with a focus on safeguarding her privacy as they move forward. The President emphasized that this is fundamentally a family matter and not a political one, underscoring that he and his wife Jill only want what is best for all their grandchildren, including little Navy.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” the president said. “This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy,” said Biden.

The public revelation comes after Hunter Biden and Lunden Roberts reached an agreement in a paternity case involving Navy in an Arkansas court the previous month.

However, when President Biden disembarked from a plane on Friday evening at 7:07 p.m., he did not address the reporters present, nor did he respond to a shouted question from one reporter about whether he intended to reach out to his seventh grandchild. This was despite the fact that he had just recognized her publicly for the first time merely two hours earlier.

The President appeared to hear the question from the reporter, briefly looking towards the pool of journalists, before ultimately choosing to walk in the opposite direction to join the motorcade.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had previously criticized President Biden for not acknowledging his grandchild sooner. Governor DeSantis questioned why the President hadn’t spent time with his granddaughter in Arkansas or even acknowledged her existence before concerning himself with other matters.

“Why don’t you spend some time with your granddaughter in Arkansas, or at least recognize her existence before you start worrying about our kids?”

Hunter Biden is a father to four other children: three daughters from his previous marriage to Kathleen Buhle, and a son with his current wife Melissa Cohen.
