Amidst the news of Princess Catherine of Wales bravely battling cancer, President Biden expressed solidarity and support for her journey. Following her announcement of undergoing chemotherapy after a period of speculation about her health, Princess Catherine emphasized the importance of privacy for her family, especially her children, as they navigate this challenging time.

Having undergone abdominal surgery in January, Princess Catherine received the sobering news that her condition was indeed cancerous, prompting her to embark on preventive chemotherapy. Despite the trying circumstances, she acknowledged the unwavering care of her medical team and urged others facing similar challenges not to lose hope.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family. But I’ve had a fantastic medical team who’ve taken great care of me for which I’m so grateful,” said Catherine in a video message released on Friday.

King Charles III said in a statement he was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.” Neither Charles nor Catherine have disclosed the type of cancer they have.

Many others have spoken out in support of the Princess of Wales following her health announcement. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commended Catherine’s “tremendous bravery” and said she had “the love and support of the whole country as she continues her recovery.”

The Princess of Wales remains hopeful during this time and reminds others to do the same. “For everyone facing this disease in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone,” said Catherine.
