Washington, DC’s 3,000 cherry blossoms are poised to paint the city pink for the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival this spring. For a weekend visit, begin at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial with its 180 blooming trees, followed by a leisurely stroll through the National Mall and a paddleboat ride along the Tidal Basin.

Free daily entertainment is being offered at the Tidal Basin Welcome Area, featuring the ANA Performance Stage. Over four weeks from the first day of spring, this temporary stage will host local, national, and international performances.

DC also boasts an extensive list of top restaurants and bars, offering a plethora of dining options in between activities. Chinatown has been named a must-visit during the festival for its vibrant atmosphere and dining choices. It can be located by the Friendship Archway at 7th and H Streets. With the purchase of a DC Passport, you can also gain access to over 50 embassies and consulates on the first two Saturdays in May, providing a glimpse into diverse customs and cultures.

The National Arboretum houses a stunning collection of cherry blossom trees, Asian Gardens, and the National Bonsai collection to visit.

The 1,800-acre Rock Creek Park offers over four miles of walking, jogging, or biking trails, as well as horseback riding and a planetarium.

Evenings can be concluded with a show at The Kennedy Center or free concerts at the Millennium Stage most nights at 6 pm.
