Three U.S. service members have been killed and five others seriously wounded during ongoing military operations tied to strikes on Iran, U.S. Central Command said Sunday.

In a statement, CENTCOM said the casualties occurred as part of “Operation Epic Fury,” adding that several other service members sustained minor injuries, including shrapnel wounds and concussions, and are expected to return to duty.

“Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing,” the command said, describing the situation as fluid.

CENTCOM said it is withholding the identities of those killed “out of respect for the families” until at least 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.

The update comes as U.S. forces remain engaged in a widening conflict following coordinated strikes with Israel on Iran, raising concerns about further escalation across the region.
