President Trump took the stage at the America Business Forum just after Tony Robbins, who had the entire crowd on their feet. Robbins was hyping up the audience with a sermon on the traits of successful people.
“You’ll see them in the President of the United States,” he said. “You’ll see them in athletes.” The qualities he listed — energy and vision — drew loud cheers. “The President has it,” Robbins added.
This type of event — a collision of political power and life coaching— is not something often seen. Yet Miami has become the place where those worlds now meet.

These are the questions framing Trump’s appearance — a speech delivered the morning after Democrats overperformed in New York, Virginia and New Jersey. With affordability and prices driving voters, the symbolism of Trump addressing America’s business elite in the capital of new money was unmistakable.
Trump entered the stage as if at one of his political rallies, to the tune of God Bless the U.S.A. “I’m thrilled to be back in Florida,” he said, to roaring applause. “We gather here on the one-year anniversary of the single most consequential election victory.”
He spoke of the 2024 election, emphasizing his victory in both the Electoral College and the popular vote. “That’s called a landslide,” he said.
Trump, clearly in campaign mode, stayed on message of his achievemnets. “These are things you need to talk about in order to do well in the elections,” he said — turning a business forum into a campaign-stage reprise of Make America Great Again.
He spoke of the economy, of what he called America’s “Golden Age,” and drew sharp contrasts with the Biden years.
“I’m pleased to report that today, the United States has the strongest economy, the strongest borders, the strongest military, the strongest friendships, and the strongest SPIRIT of any nation anywhere… This is the Golden Age of America.”
At every opportunity, Trump returned to familiar themes — the American Dream, the contested 2020 election and the promise of revival under his leadership. He announced a $2-per-gallon drop in gas prices and claimed Thanksgiving grocery prices were down 25% compared to last year — a sign he knows affordability remains the central motivator for voters heading into the next election cycle.
“Turkey prices are down,” Trump said, before spotting someone in the audience. “A Saudi princess is here — she probably doesn’t care, she has a lot of cash.”
Trump is aware that Democrats are breathing down his party’s neck and wanted to bring the energy of last year’s election.
“We’re gathered today on the one-year anniversary of the single most consequential election victory in American history. On 11/5/2024, the American people reclaimed our government, we restored our sovereignty, we rescued our economy… and together, WE SAVED OUR COUNTRY.”
Trump then added: “On November 5, 2024 the American people reclaimed our government. We restored our sovereignty, We lost a little bit of sovereignty last night in New York, but we’ll take care of it, don’t worry about it.”
Trump also turned his attention to New York, saying that people want to “flee” the city. He added that he loves New York but blamed former Mayor Bill de Blasio for its decline.
Trump went further, saying Democrats had “installed a communist as mayor of the largest city in the nation,” and added that after last night’s results, “the decision facing all Americans could not be more clear: We have a choice between communism and common sense.”
While he did not mention the newly elected mayor of New York City by name, it was clear that he was referring to Mamdani. “As long as I’m in the White House,” he declared, “the United States is not going communist in any way, shape, or form.”
Trump also mocked former President Obama’s recent speech. “Obama said ‘Donald Trump is a mean person,’” he said. “I’m not a mean person, we just want to make America Great Again. He’s a mean person — he’s a divider. Obama. Barack Hussein Obama.”
In his speech Trump accused Democrats of holding the country “hostage” over the government shutdown.
On social issues, Trump pivoted to gender and sports. While talking about transgender athletes, he said Democrats are “crazy — and Mamdani, or whatever the hell his name is.” He added that he wants New York City to be successful and might “help him a little bit maybe.”
Earlier in his remarks, Trump drew big cheers when he said, “We’re making the United States the Bitcoin superpower, the crypto capital of the world, and the undisputed leader in artificial intelligence.”
He invited Miami Mayor Francis Suarez to the podium, joking that Suarez was “a little late in his endorsement.” Suarez then presented Trump with “a key that opens some really nice presidential library real estate.”
Trump gave a shout-out to developer Steve Witkoff for negotiating “peace in the Middle East” and to “a young genius named Jared Kushner,” calling both men to stand.
There were cheers and applause — followed by a proud nod to his granddaughter Arabella, whom he praised for earning A grades in school.
On Middle East peace, Trump said: “We’re going to have it too. We’re doing well. Just keeps going along.”
Again noting the Saudi officials in attendance, he said he hopes they will join the Abraham Accords. “Hopefully we’ll get Saudi Arabia very soon.”
Turning to Gaza, Trump said, “There’s nothing tenuous, it’s a serious end,” adding that he hopes it is “because otherwise I only ended seven.”
He also acknowledged FIFA President Gianni Infantino, mentioned the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and announced that UFC will visit the White House on June 14 as part of the 250th-anniversary celebrations.
Addressing drug enforcement, Trump said, “Every time we hit a boat we save 25,000 lives. It’s really made unbelievable progress, and we’re blowing up cartel terrorists, and we’re blowing them up, linked to the Maduro regime in Venezuela and others.”
Trump also covered subjects including nuclear arms, the eight wars he says he’s ended, and a blank teleprompter at the United Nations General Assembly — returning often to familiar campaign ground.
The speech wrapped at 2:45 p.m. Trump then danced to “Y.M.C.A.” to more cheers from the crowd.
