In a post on Truth Social, Trump said his earlier ultimatum demanding Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz had been temporarily shelved following “in depth, detailed, and constructive conversations” aimed at a broader resolution of hostilities in the Middle East.

Earlier Monday, Iran’s Security Council warned it could mine the Persian Gulf if U.S. strikes on its energy infrastructure were carried out.

Iran, for its part, has not confirmed any negotiations with the Trump administration.
